Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about seeing an Exercise Physiologist in Shenton Park.

What is an Exercise Physiologist?

An Accredited Exercise Physiologist is a university-qualified allied health professional who prescribes safe, evidence-based exercise to prevent and manage chronic conditions, injuries and disabilities.

Do I need a referral to see an Exercise Physiologist?

You do not need a referral to book privately. To access Medicare rebates, ask your GP about a referral under a Chronic Disease Management (GP care) plan. We also accept DVA and self-managed NDIS clients. We are not an NDIS registered provider, so NDIS clients need to be self-managed.

Can I claim a Medicare rebate?

Yes. If your GP refers you under a Chronic Disease Management plan, Medicare covers a rebate for eligible sessions each calendar year. Your GP will confirm whether you qualify.

What conditions can exercise physiology help with?

Chronic disease (diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, arthritis, fatty liver, PCOS), weight management, injury and pain, and falls risk or balance concerns.

What happens in my first session?

Lize assesses your health, movement and goals, then designs a personalised program you can follow safely, in the clinic and at home. Your program is reviewed and adjusted as you progress.
